Traces of the industrial and commercial character of the Ridge Road Corridor start as early as 1917 when Lawrence Hickson was the first to start a radio station in the area. Eventually sold to WHEC in 1932 the station eventually made the transition to television and prospers to this day. Today, residents can find many apartment complexes, townhome communities and shopping in this area.
